Our Vision for Sustainable Progress

Our aim is to create a safe space.

BloomSphere Foundation is transforming mental health advocacy by focusing on the mental well-being of youth through education, awareness, and intervention. Our foundation is dedicated to equipping young people with the tools and support they need to navigate mental health challenges, particularly in the areas of suicide prevention and awareness.

BloomSphere’s mission is to create a safe space where young individuals are empowered to speak openly about their mental health, break the stigma surrounding mental illness, and access life-saving resources. Through outreach programs, educational workshops, and community-based initiatives, we aim to foster resilience, self-awareness, and emotional well-being among the youth we serve.

Our founder believes that, just like a flower that blooms with proper care and attention, every young person can thrive when given the right support. At BloomSphere Foundation, we are committed to providing that support, ensuring that no young person has to face mental health struggles alone. Together, we are planting the seeds of hope and changing the narrative on mental health and suicide prevention in our communities.

We are fostering resilient minds in underserved communities...

Across many parts of Africa today, when mental health is discussed, it is often met with stigma, misunderstanding, and silence. BloomSphere Foundation is changing that narrative by bringing mental health awareness and support to young people in communities where it’s needed most.

According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), depression is one of the leading causes of illness and disability among adolescents worldwide, yet mental health services are scarce, especially in low-income areas. In Nigeria, where 50% of the population is under 19, youth mental health challenges often go unaddressed, with many facing anxiety, depression, and emotional trauma in silence.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 20-30% of Nigerians suffer from mental health disorders, which includes depression, anxiety, substance abuse, and schizophrenia. This translates to roughly 50 million people in a population of over 200 million.

what makes us different

Our Programs

Peer Counseling and Support

Our trained peer counselors provide free, confidential support to youth and young adults struggling with mental health challenges. Our program offers a safe space for open conversations and emotional support.

Mental Health Resources and Toolkit Distribution

We provide free mental health toolkits that include coping strategies, crisis management plans, and wellness exercises. These resources are available online and distributed during community outreach events.

School Outreach and Mental Health Workshops

We bring mental health education directly to schools with interactive workshops designed to raise awareness about bullying, suicide prevention, and mental health stigma. Our goal is to empower students with the tools to manage their well-being.

Mental Health Advocacy and Awareness Campaigns

We organize community-based advocacy campaigns focused on reducing mental health stigma and promoting suicide prevention. Our campaigns engage the public through social media, events, and collaborations with local organizations.

Nigeria has one of the highest suicide rates in Africa. The WHO estimates that 9.5 suicides occur per 100,000 people annually. Many suicides go unreported due to the stigma attached to both mental illness and suicide.
